ClearTalk Mandarin grew out of years of teaching international learners, and one belief: a language becomes meaningful when it connects to real people, real places and real life.
Hi, I’m Yiyi (11)
I wanted to teach — and I wanted to see the world.
Teaching Chinese as a second language was the one path where both of those fit together. In 2019 I went to Kazakhstan and stood in front of international students for the first time, and that settled it.
University teaching and online teaching followed. Since then my classroom has been wherever I am, and my students have been everywhere — which is also how I ended up traveling to more than 50 countries and meeting in person the people I had only seen on a screen.
After 7,000+ hours of Chinese teaching and teacher training, I built ClearTalk Mandarin around one idea: Chinese should be something you can use — in conversation, at work, while traveling, and in ordinary daily life.
The idea behind ClearTalk
Chinese should not stay inside a textbook.
